Social Media Templates

Overview

I was asked to design social media templates for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to increase the marketing team's efficiency. My objectives were to ensure the templates upheld the company’s brand guidelines and were easy for other designers to use. I created a wide selection of templates that the team was extremely happy with. Each template included design notes to ensure all designers knew how to work with them.

Objective

Create a library of social media templates to reduce the amount of time the design team spent on content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Research

I started this phase of the project by categorizing all of the company’s recent social media posts. This was key to ensuring that there were templates available for the common social media requests the marketing team received. I also researched competitors' social media profiles, to try and foresee any new trends or types of content that I could integrate into the templates. Finally, I updated an index of the export settings for each of the platforms, to ensure all of the sizing would be accurate.

Ideation

The templates needed to be clean and simple so that they could be easily used for any of the social media requests the marketing team may receive. At the request of the company, the templates also needed to include their primary brand asset, a journey line. As I developed each of the designs, I added notes to ensure that they would be used correctly by whoever may design with them.

Challenges

Ensuring that the templates would be usable by designers with different sill levels, training and experience.

Results

The success of this project was twofold: First, the designs were very well received by the marketing team. Second, the templates significantly decreased the amount of time the marketing team spent on social media requests.
